Sur invitation de Satellite Spirit, Théo-Mario Coppola, curateur indépendant, propose une exposition collective, Antique Future, où un ou deux artistes par galerie sont présentés.
Produit d’une réflexion sur la dialectique qui anime une génération d’artistes en immersion dans le contemporain, cette exposition est un regard porté sur les horizons plus lointains de l’Histoire.
Antique Future est un clin d’oeil à une exposition (The Antique Future) réalisée par le duo Collins et Milazzo en 1987 à la galerie Audiello à New York. Nous proposons donc ici une exposition dont le statement évoque à la fois l’histoire récente des expositions et une nouvelle génération portée par l’histoire, les nouvelles technologies, l’interdisciplinarité et le nomadisme. Cette génération, capable d’accumuler savoirs et savoirs pratiques renouvelle sans cesse les expérimentations sans jamais se départir des racines archaïques des civilisations humaines. Cette vitalité éclairée par des références protéiformes où est abdiquée la hiérarchie des sources, au profit d’une exploration des lieux et des époques par le médium met en scène l’artiste comme testeur. Il rassemble ainsi les éléments qui l’entourent et livre une vision foisonnante de son environnement. Le champ lexical de l’Histoire se décline et s’expérimente. Les idées se conjuguent pour donner à voir un futur idéal ou critique.
Ces histoires hybrides alimentent une narration collective où nous entrevoyons l’espoir et l’enthousiasme d’un lendemain rêvé. Antique Future n’est pas un simple état des lieux des connaissances post-modernes mais avant tout une expérience phénoménologique où la mémoire et le présent vécue se transforment l’un l’autre. Pragmatiques mais non résignés, informés mais critiques, valeureux mais humbles, les artistes rassemblés ici sont le miroir d’un monde complexe et rhizomique. L’énergie qui traverse les échanges et les activités humaines a supplanté les institutions stables. Antique Future prophétise une renaissance, celle d’une génération de l’entre-deux où le choix de la vie réconcilie le passé et l’avenir.

On the invitation of Satellite Spirit, independent curator Théo-Mario Coppola presents a group exhibition, Antique Future, in which one or two artists per gallery are featured.
The result of a reflection on the dialectic animating a generation of artists immersed in the contemporary, this exhibition casts a gaze toward the more distant horizons of History.
Antique Future is a nod to an exhibition (The Antique Future) organized by the duo Collins and Milazzo in 1987 at the Audiello Gallery in New York. Here, we propose an exhibition whose statement evokes both the recent history of exhibitions and a new generation shaped by history, new technologies, interdisciplinarity, and nomadism. This generation, capable of accumulating knowledge and practical know-how, continually renews experimentation without ever abandoning the archaic roots of human civilizations. This vitality, illuminated by protean references in which the hierarchy of sources is relinquished in favor of an exploration of places and eras through the medium, stages the artist as a tester. The artist thus gathers the elements that surround them and delivers a profuse vision of their environment. The lexical field of History unfolds and is experimented with. Ideas converge to offer a vision of an ideal or critical future.
These hybrid histories nourish a collective narrative in which we glimpse the hope and enthusiasm of a dreamed tomorrow. Antique Future is not merely a survey of postmodern knowledge but above all a phenomenological experience in which memory and lived present transform one another. Pragmatic yet not resigned, informed yet critical, valiant yet humble, the artists brought together here mirror a complex and rhizomatic world. The energy that runs through exchanges and human activities has supplanted stable institutions. Antique Future prophesies a rebirth: that of an in-between generation in which the choice of life reconciles past and future.
